Clubs & Activities

Developing the whole child is emphasized at Horizon Honors. The school provides students with a variety of programs to meet their diverse needs. Social activities, clubs, and leadership opportunities are available at all grade levels.

Current Clubs:

Children and adults play chess at tables set up indoors.Elementary clubs are subject to change.

FALL 2026 CLUB TIMELINE:

  • Friday, July 31st - Club sign up  opens
  • Wednesday, August 12th - Club sign up closes
  • Friday, August 14th - Club lottery emails sent to families.
  • Wednesday, August 19th - Deadline to accept or decline club seats.
  • Friday, August 21-23 - Club rosters are complete, and families receive welcome emails from club sponsors. 
  • Monday, August 24th - Clubs begin (Start dates vary for Chess Club)
  • Sunday, August 30th - Deadline to pay is 11:59 AM. Information on how to pay will be emailed to families.
  • Grades:
    Grades 5-6

    Description:
    Beadery is a club where students let their creativity grow as they create wearable art that they can share with friends. Students will learn how to do a number of different stitches to create elaborate bracelets and charms using only beads and string. Students will be creating a final project in the club to showcase all they've learned through the semester. Whether they are starting for the first time or have been making bracelets for years, every one is welcome no matter where they begin.

  • Grades:
    Grades K-6

    Description:
    Builds confidence, self-discipline and problem-solving skills while promoting concentration, accountability, creativity and insight. Students of all ages, grades and skill levels are welcome!

    Description:
    Our Tabletop Role Playing Game (RPG) club is a welcoming community space for all adventurers. Members will team up to play student-created tabletop games. Players will create heroes, roll dice, and work together to tell cooperative stories and defeat challenges (and monsters!).

    Description:
    Club to learn about each others pets and learn how to take care of pets. Along with making things for pets to donate to animals around the community.

    Description:
    We will read the first Harry Potter book and do some fun actives to go along with the chapters. At the end of the semester we will watch the movie

    Description:
    A place for students to showcase their talents as they learn to be confident performers. The students will learn expectations and preparation needed to be a successful performer and will present a production for their family to enjoy.

    Description:
    This club was started by a former sixth grade student at Horizon Honors who wanted to provide opportunities for elementary and intermediate students to participate in community service.

  • Grades:
    Grades 3-6

    Description:
    Musical theater club that practices and then performs a mini musical for families to enjoy. The same club is offered on 2 separate days to allow for more students. Please pick the specific day you prefer or select EITHER day for a better chance of being selected. Space in both days is limited. A lottery will be used if needed.

    Grades 1-2

    Description:
    Spirit squad will be a fun introduction to cheer. We will learn simple cheers and dances. We will perform for parents, possibly a secondary sports game performance, and at a big morning meeting to spread school spirit!

    Description:
    A fun after-school club to foster friendships and show school spirit whether that be cheering and dancing or showing love for the Horizon Honors community.

    Description:
    Join us for fun and learning in the Wild Cards Club! Students will explore and play a variety of card games that build critical thinking, strategy, and social skills. Whether you’re a beginner or a card game pro, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and discover together. Come play, learn, and make new friends!

    Description:
    In Writing Club students will expand their imaginations with creative writing. They will participate in genre studies, writers workshops, and concentrated writing time. Students will become familiar with the creative writing process and become true authors!
